He studied at the Pardubice Conservatory in Professor Naděžda Novotná’s class. As a student, he won the 2nd prize at the Czech Conservatories Competition in 1987 and the 1st prize in an interpretation competition in the following year. He graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in Professor Jiří Tomášek’s class. In 1989–1990, he was a member of the International Mahler Orchestra. In 1991, he joined the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and currently he plays in the first violins of the Czech Philharmonic.
