Violinist Markéta Dominikusová grew up in Letohrad, where she took her first steps in music. She went on to study at the Prague Conservatoire and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, completing her master's degree in violin performance in 2022. Throughout her studies at both institutions, she was taught by Pavel Kudelásek. She also honed her skills at masterclasses with Václav Hudeček, Leoš Čepický, František Novotný and Bohumil Kotmel.
Her talent was recognised early on with a string of competition successes. A multiple prizewinner at the Kocian Violin Competition, she also took first prize at the Václav Hudeček Academy in Luhačovice in 2011. Chamber music has proved equally rewarding: in 2017, her piano trio won both first prize and the overall title at the Karel Ditters von Dittersdorf Competition, followed by second prize at the Bohuslav Martinů Competition in 2022.
Equally at home as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, Dominikusová has performed Prokofiev's Second Violin Concerto with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra and Moszkowski's Suite for Two Violins alongside Jan Mráček. Her solo repertoire also includes concertos by Mozart and Bruch, while more recent appearances have seen her perform Vivaldi's The Four Seasons in 2025.
She joined the Czech Philharmonic in 2026, returning to an orchestra she had come to know a decade earlier as a member of its Orchestral Academy from 2014 to 2016. Her career has also taken her into a wide range of orchestral and chamber music settings. She joined the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2023 and has worked with ensembles including the Prague Chamber Orchestra, Prague Chamber Soloists, Czech Sinfonietta and L'Armonia Terrena, contributing to several recordings with the latter. In 2025, she also took part in a recording project with Pavel Šporcl and the Šporcl Chamber Players.
Beyond the concert platform, Dominikusová is a dedicated teacher, passing on her experience to young musicians at music schools in Říčany and Čelákovice.
