Czech Philharmonic: The Serial. From One Fairy Tale to Another

This season’s series for children and parents is entitled From One Fairy Tale to Another. We will fill the Rudolfinum with fairy tale characters and fairy tale music. Which instrument is best for driving away an angry dragon and which to use to lower a drawbridge? Which instrument would hold the most dwarfs inside? Come along and have a guess! Accompanying all of the concerts will be the author Klára Boudalová.

Steps to the New World

The music form founded in the mid-19th century to tell stories and paint pictures through instrumental music is called the symphonic poem. Its “founding father” Franz Liszt had his followers in Russia, France as well as in the Bohemian Lands. This season’s series of concerts with commentary for young adults and adults “Steps to the New World” will be focusing on works by these composers.

Concert of the Joint Orchestra of Music School Pupils and the Czech Philharmonic Musicians

Concluding concert of the project, in which Czech Philharmonic players meet with pupils of music schools in the Czech Republic. Six months of rehearsing will come to a head with famous conductor Petr Altrichter. He will conduct the ochestra in works of Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Tchaikovsky.
