The Little Rudolfinum • Playful Harp

Playing the harp might look easy; you can play a scale with just one finger. In reality, it's not just "strumming" as it might seem at first glance. This queen of instruments can make not only lovely, heavenly sounds but also devilishly scary ones. The Czech Philharmonic's queen of the harp Jana Boušková will tell us all about it.

The harp is her whole life. In 1992 she became the only Czech to win the world's most prestigious harp competition, and she took home with her a beautiful harp as her prize. Get to know this special instrument up close. You can also look forward to lots of interesting musical activities. If you decide to come, you will experience the harp like never before.

We introduce various harp playing techniques. We'll play we're detectives and find out how the instrument works and why it makes so many unique sounds. You can look forward to lots of riddles, quizzes, and even some group singing.
