Subscription Series II

This year, Series II will fulfil one of our society’s basic missions: supporting our country’s musicians. At all of these concerts, we will be enjoying the artistry of leading Czech performers and ensembles. Members of the Czech Philharmonic will also be represented.

The series opens with three of Beethoven’s violin sonatas as part of their integral presentation. The Suk Piano Quartet will give the exclusive premiere of an imaginative Piano Quintet by the Czech Philharmonic’s Composer-in-Residence, the world-famous musician Thomas Adès. The Guarneri Trio will put to use its 40 seasons of experience playing together at its January concert. We will also be introducing rising stars of Czech chamber music: in accordance with tradition, one of the concerts will be belong to laureates of the Czech Chamber Music Society Prize. The Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra will continue our Beethoven celebrations. Concluding our season is the Martinů Quartet celebrating its 50th year.
