A treat is in store in orchestral Subscription Series C for those who enjoy the music of Czech, Russian, and British composers. Semyon Bychkov will combine works by his long-time favourite Sergei Rachmaninoff first with dances by Bedřich Smetana and a second time with Benjamin Britten. The next three concerts will belong to guest conductors.

Nicholas Craemer will conduct Johann Sebastian Bach’s St John Passion with the choirmaster Tereza Válková and the newly established early music group SILENTIUM! Ensemble. At the Rudolfinum Simon Rattle presents a programme filled with aquatic motifs, and Daniel Harding takes the orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia to Prague Castle’s Spanish Hall. Also coming to Dvořák Hall are the pianists Seong-Jin Cho and Behzod Abduraimov and the violinist Janine Jansen.
