Recitals

Violin, organ, and piano in the most capable hands. This is exactly the promise of four extraordinary recitals by Czech and foreign performers who have accepted their invitations for this season. Our year of Beethoven continues, we celebrate Philip Glass’s birthday, and the organ at the Rudolfinum comes to life.

Our curator Jan Fišer will also open this series with a recital featuring Beethoven’s last violin sonatas. Our second early evening recital will also be devoted to the violin. This year’s Czech Philharmonic Artist-in-Residence Janine Jansen will present the sonata in a variety of forms. For the first time, our February recital will feature the organ played by the titular organist at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, Vincent Dubois. The last recital will be another encounter with a favourite of the local public, Víkingur Ólafson. His programme will commemorate French music and will pay tribute Philip Glass, who turns 90 in 2027.
