Tereza Petrová

Tereza was born in 2005 in Prague. She began playing studying violin at age five under Lenka Kolářová at the Elementary School of the Arts in Řevnice. In September 2020 she began her studies at the Prague Conservatoire under Ivan Ženatý and from 2022 under Jan Talich. Upon graduation in 2024, she enrolled at the Academy of Performing Arts to study under Prof. Pavel Kudelásek. While studying at the Elementary School of the Arts, she won and placed at various solo competitions around the Czech Republic. In 2016 and 2019, she won First Prize performing in chamber ensembles at the National Competition of Pupils at Elementary Schools of the Arts. In 2019, Tereza played in the first violin section at a concert of the Joint Orchestra of Music School Pupils and Musicians of the Czech Philharmonic conducted by Petr Altrichter. In 2019 and 2022, she took part at the International Violin Course with Leoš Čepický. In 2020 and 2021, she took part at summer courses with Ivan Ženatý and in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 at the Telč Music Academy with Pavel Fischer. In 2023, she studied at courses led by Pavel Kudelásek, and she appeared at the Lake George Music Festival in the USA. There, she took part in a masterclass with Ani Kavafian. Tereza grew up with folk music, performing in Notičky, a children’s folk music ensemble, with which she continues to play first violin.
