“It’s amazing to be part of something that brings people joy.”
Barbara Pazourová got her start as a pianist, then she began devoting herself to the harp at age 13. In 1978 she entered the studio of Professor Libuše Váchalová at the Prague Conservatoire. After graduating, she began studying at the Academy of Performing Arts under the guidance of Professor Karel Patras, graduating in 1988. She already began her career with the Czech Philharmonic during her studies, winning the audition in 1985.
Romantic and impressionistic music resonates the most with her, and she has special memories of performing Má vlast with Rafael Kubelík in 1990. In addition, she devotes herself to chamber music projects. “In our profession, the greatest gift is that our hobby is also our vocation”, she says, summing up her feelings.
She loves opera and ballet. She attends theatrical performances frequently and enjoys broadcasts on radio and television. She also likes listening to popular music or light jazz during her free time.
