Our programmes for preschools and the individual grades of elementary and secondary school will definitely convince pupils of all ages that classical music need not always be serious and certainly should never be dull.

The music form founded in the mid-19th century to tell stories and paint pictures through instrumental music is called the symphonic poem. Its “founding father” Franz Liszt had his followers in Russia, France as well as in the Bohemian Lands. This season’s series of concerts with commentary for young adults and adults “Steps to the New World” will be focusing on works by these composers.

The project supports music education in the Czech Republic and the teachers in particular. It brings together teachers at elementary schools, music schools, and secondary schools as well as pre-school teachers. The meetings allow them to discuss, share inspiration, and work together to find ways to introduce children to the world of music.
