Alfred Brendel has been one of the most important performers of the 20th century. He has had an extraordinary international career, for 60 years concentrating on central-European composers from Bach to Schoenberg. He is the first pianist to have recorded Ludwig van Beethoven's complete piano music, and he is significantly responsible for making Schubert's piano sonatas part of the standard repertoire. In 2016 the company Decca  issued a boxed set of 114 CDs with Brendel's complete recordings for the Phillips and Decca labels. In 1992 Brendel received the Hans von Bülow Medal from the Berlin Philharmonic, and in December 1998 he was made an honorary member of the Vienna Philharmonic. In 2001 in Cannes, he received the MIDEM award for lifetime achievement in the field of classical music.

Persons interested in active participation can apply by email to info(zavinac)pmpif.org (please send a CV, photograph, and recording). The deadline is 30 Jan. 2024. Pianists and chamber ensembles: Beethoven's late works from Op. 97 and later.
