Special Concerts

To enter our new season, we are truly putting our best foot forward with the violin virtuoso and Artist-in-Residence Janine Jansen and our chief conductor Semyon Bychkov, who join the Czech Philharmonic in honouring Dmitri Shostakovich’s 120th birthday. Our traditional concluding Open Air Concert will commemorate Jiří Bělohlávek.

Our New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day Concerts will feature Czech and Slovak soloists. Concertmaster Jan Mráček will play a composition by Fritz Kreisler, and soprano Simona Šaturová will sing arias by Mozart and Gounod. Leading the programme with a strong focus on opera is the music director of London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Vasily Petrenko.
