Subscription Series B also offers a concert performance of an opera – Ariane by Bohuslav Martinů under the baton of Principal Guest Conductor Tomáš Netopil and with soprano Jessica Muirhead in the lead role. Kirill Gerstein will give the world première of a piano concerto by Thomas Larcher. Two of Antonín Dvořák’s symphonies will be performed along with Mahler’s First Symphony, and besides that there will be a nice variety of other orchestral compositions and instrumental concertos. Conductor Juanjo Mena and harpist Jana Boušková are preparing a special Spanish programme. Violinist Karen Gomyo and violist Lawrence Power will be appearing before the Prague public for the first time. Famous, popular soloists Jan Mráček and Gautier Capuçon will also be on hand. Besides the conductors mentioned above, Chief Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic Semyon Bychkov will prepare three other programmes, and principal guest conductors Jakub Hrůša and Tomáš Netopil will present two.
