Subscription Series II

Chamber Series II showcases leading Czech artists and rising talents. The Lobkowicz Trio opens the season, followed by baritone Jiří Rajniš. The Wihan Quartet and the Danish String Quartet will both perform works by Composer-in-Residence Bryce Dessner.

The Lobkowicz Trio presents a Romantic-themed opening, followed by Jiří Rajniš in a recital featuring Mahler, Korngold and Neapolitan songs. The series also celebrates a decade of the Chamber Music Academy, including the world premiere of a work by Jan Ryant Dřízal. In October, this season’s curator Mahan Esfahani begins his complete performance of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier. The final concerts focus on string quartets: the Wihan Quartet, marking their 40th season, and the acclaimed Danish String Quartet, making their Prague debut. Both ensembles will perform works by Bryce Dessner, this season’s Composer-in-Residence.
