He was born to a family of musicians in Brno. He studied at the Brno Conservatory and later at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Professor Václav Junek.
He was a member of the Prague Chamber Philharmonic (PKF – Prague Philharmonia) in 1994 and 1995, became the principal trumpeter of the National Theatre Opera Orchestra in 1998. He is currently the principal trumpeter of the Czech Philharmonic.
He also performs contemporary music and is a founding member of the ensemble Ostravská banda.
