Subscription Series C

Mahler’s Ninth Symphony, Suk’s Epilogue, Brahms’ First Symphony, Kabeláč’s Mystery of Time, and Bruckner’s Ninth Symphony are indeed strong pillars of this four-concert subscription series. Orchestral melodrama by Viktor Ullmann written in the Theresienstadt ghetto, Mozart’s Violin Concerto in A major with Czech Philharmonic concertmaster Jan Mráček, and Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor performed by British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason complement these masterpieces perfectly. Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov conducts two programmes and Principal Chief Conductor Jakub Hrůša will spend one evening with us and conducting star Franz Welser-Möst will take the baton in the concluding programme.
