Two world premières of works by leading foreign composers, a concert performance of the opera The Cunning Little Vixen, commemoration of the Ludwig van Beethoven anniversary, Dvořák’s Biblical Songs, 7th and 9th Symphony, Sibelius, Mozart. Subscription Series A gives the listener a very erudite overview of music history and genres presented by the very best: Chief Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic Semyon Bychkov, legendary British conductor John Eliot Gardiner, Manfred Honeck, who is a regular guest at the Rudolfinum, and Chief Conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra Sakari Orama. The soloists engaged for Series A are real stars: sopranos Kateřina Kněžíková and Elena Tsallagova, mezzo-sopranos Daniela Sindram and Jarmila Balážová, bass-baritone Albert Pesendorfer, bass Jan Martiník twice, and also bass Boris Prýgl, the piano duo of Katia and Marielle Labèque, and finally popular violinist Leonidas Kavakos.
