Audition for the position of viola 3rd deputy

The Czech Philharmonic and its Chief Conductor and Music Director Semyon Bychkov announce an audition for the position of viola 3rd deputy. This is a full-time position with a trial period starting 1st February 2026 or by agreement.

Application deadline: 12th December 2025

Audition date and place: 23rd January 2026, Rudolfinum, Praha

Pre-selection video recording:

1st Round (blind audition):

2nd Round (non-blind audition):

a) First and second movement of one of the following viola concertos:

b) Orchestral excerpts:

  • V. Novák: O věčné touze/ Of Eternal Longing

  • B. Martinů: The Frescoes of Piero della Francesca
