Advent Concerts
The Advent Concerts of the Czech Chamber Music Society offer audiences the perfect opportunity to start feeling festive. Across four programmes—featuring, as always, members of the Czech Philharmonic—you’ll hear much more than familiar carols, though those, too, are part of the Rudolfinum’s Advent tradition.
This year’s Sunday concerts include arrangements of iconic works for eight cellos and double bass by the ensemble Virtuosi di Basso, a tribute to Vivaldi with vocalist Markéta Cukrová, and a light-hearted Mozart programme performed by the Czech Philharmonic’s Philharmonic’s principal string players. A few days before Christmas Eve, members of the Philharmonic’s trombone and tuba section will offer a joyful and original holiday greeting of their own.
