Steps to the New World

The music form founded in the mid-19th century to tell stories and paint pictures through instrumental music is called the symphonic poem. Its “founding father” Franz Liszt had his followers in Russia, France as well as in the Bohemian Lands. This season’s series of concerts with commentary for young adults and adults “Steps to the New World” will be focusing on works by these composers.

This special concert is part of the cycle Steps to the new world series and is organized in collaboration with the Lípa Musica Festival. Concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic Josef Špaček will appear as both a violinist and conductor together with the Czech Student Philharmonic.
Concert of the Joint Orchestra of Music School Pupils and the Czech Philharmonic Musicians
Concert | From 12 years
Concluding concert of the project, in which Czech Philharmonic players meet with pupils of music schools in the Czech Republic. Six months of rehearsing will come to a head with famous conductor Petr Altrichter. He will conduct the ochestra in works of Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Tchaikovsky.

Workshop | From 60 years
The workshops are primarily intended for participants over the age of 60, but they should also serve as inspiration for caregivers, volunteers, and social workers. In the course of the designated time, everyone will be working on separate topics under the leadership of our outstanding, inspirational tutors.
