Two Voices – One World
A special year-long programme of the Czech Philharmonic and Ida Kelarová for children from Vsetín. Music, new friendships, discovering each other’s cultures, and lots of special, shared experiences are awaiting the children beginning in October 2017.
Two Voices – One World is the name of a project planned for the children of Vsetín by Ida Kelarová with her non-profit organization MIRET and the Czech Philharmonic with support from the foundation Bader Philanthropies.
The children can look forward to dancing and singing workshops led by Ida Kelarová and her team, to music workshops and forums with players and instructors from the Czech Philharmonic, and especially to the group rehearsals, which will take place once a week beginning in October 2017. In June 2018, the intensive work will climax with a concluding gala concert in Vsetín and Valašské Meziříčí. All of the participating children, Ida Kelarová, and musicians from the Czech Philharmonic will be appearing in the concert. The programme will include music by J. Brahms, G. Boulanger, and D. Dužda as well as traditional Romany music.
"Our children work intensively to improve; they don’t get discouraged, and they give their best. That’s what counts, and in the end, people are always moved by it. Everybody!"
The project is intended for children between 6 and 18 years of age. Rehearsals will be on Wednesday afternoons (from 4:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m.) in Vsetín and Valašské Meziříčí. This year-long programme for children is free of charge.
Joint rehearsals will be held once a week beginning in October in Vsetín and Valašské Meziříčí.
