Subscription Series II

Audience members and subscribers, of this series will enjoy six concerts with music ranging from the classics to works of the 20th century. Celebrating their jubilees, J. Brahms and A. Dvořák will be featured prominently; their music will be played in the opening concert of the Bennewitz Quartet, violist Pavel Nikl, and wonderful contrabass player Wiese de Boevé. The Guarneri Trio Prague will give a concert celebrating its 35th anniversary. The legendary Julliard Quartet (USA) will be on tour on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of its founding, and we are pleased that Prague will be one of its stops. Czech Philharmonic concertmaster Jiří Vodička has accepted the role of artistic supervisor of the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra for this series. Concluding the series will be Mahan Esfahani, Iranian-American harpsichordist living in Prague. He will join with British performers Adam Walker (flute), Nick Daniels (oboe), and Ben Goldscheider (French horn) in a highly varied programme of music of the 19th but mainly of the 20th century.
