Subscription Series II

Seven evening concerts

In this programme series, the Czech Chamber Orchestra and the Vlach Quartet will be commemorating one of the legendary Czech chamber music performers of the latter half of the twentieth century – the violinist and conductor Josef Vlach. The superb vocalists and instrumentalists of Ensemble Inégal will be performing Italian and Czech music of the Early Baroque. In collaboration with the ensemble Barocco sempre giovane, the pianist Ivo Kahánek will be the protagonist in three of Mozart’s piano concertos from his Viennese period. The first-class Janáček Trio will be offering a programme of French chamber music. Of course, string quartet fans will not be disappointed, either. There will be an appearance by the Martinů Quartet in collaboration with members of the Czech Philharmonic, the contrabass player Petr Ries, and the pianist Václav Mácha, and the Pavel Haas Quartet, which has enjoyed success around the world, will be presenting itself on two evenings of this chamber series on the stage of the Rudolfinum as this season’s ensemble-in-residence.
