Soprano singer Kristýna Kůstková graduated her studies at the Pardubice Conservatory of Music in the class of Jarmila Chalupková, and also cooperates with Italian pedagogue Antonio Carangelo. She is currently a student of classical singing at the The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of Ivan Kusnjer.
From the age of seven until the year 2012 Kristýna Kůstková was a member and soloist of the Children’s Opera Prague, with which she participated in numerous tours including trips to Germany, France and Italy; the recording several CDs and also music educational pragrammes for the state-owned Czech Television. She performed as a soloist at the New Stage of the Czech National Theatre under the baton of Jan Chalupecký as Esmeralda in the project the Bartered Bride and in the performance of Mozart’s Leporelo (Zerlina, Zuzanka). She performs in concerts not only in the Czech Republic, but also in other countries including Italy or Germany. She is scheduled to cooperate in several concerts with the ensemble BAROCCO SEMPRE GIOVANE and Václav Hudeček. She also often cooperates with the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice: for exemple in gala concert with Štefan Margita in April 2016 or on „Pardubické jaro“ festival, where she also performed with Adam Plachetka and Barocco sempre giovane.
In 2016 she made her debut as Pamina in The Magic Flute at the Moravian Theatre. She also presented herself as Musetta in the project of the Conservatory of Pardubice in East Bohemian Theatre Pardubice. In 2017 she sang on the Closing night concert of Dvořák 's Art Songs in the Bohemian National Hall of the Czech center New York with members of The Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and presented herself as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) in the Project of Run OpeRun Prague. She has also been successful in competitions, winning 1st prizes in the International Singing Competition Prague Singer, the Duškova competition, the Antonín Dvořák International Competition in the category Promising Opera Singer. She has also been awarded 1st prize in the Singing Competition in Olomouc (2015), the title of Laureate and the prize of artistic head of opera and operetta of the Moravian Theatre and 1st prize and Prize for the absolut winner in the Contest of Conservatories (2016). This year she won 2nd prize in the Antonín Dvořák International Competition in the category Junior, Honorable mention in the category Song and Prizes of Jarmila Novotná, Antonín Dvořák Society, Carangelo Belcanto Academy and Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra. She was also awarded the Prize Young Talent of Pardubice Region in 2017.
Kateřina Ochmanová has just been awarded two accompanist prizes (Antonín Dvořák`s International Singing Competition, International Singing Competition Olomouc) which enriched her collection of various awards. She currently works as an accompanist at the singing and cello department at Conservatory in Pardubice where she teaches the piano as well.
Kateřina was born in Semily (CZE) to a family of musicians. Along with playing the piano she began to play the accordion and chamber music as well. Kateřina was given numerous prizes at national competitions of elementary music schools in all three categories. During her studies at Pardubice Conservatory she formed a piano duo (with Martin Smutný) and won the 2nd prize and a special prize for the best performance of Antonín Dvořák`s composition at Schubert International Competition for piano duos. Ochmanová-Smutný performed at the festival Young stage and played with Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic Carnival of the animals by Camille Saint-Säens. Kateřina won the 2nd prize in Novak's International competition in Kamenice nad Lipou (CZE).
As a soloist she performed with Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic, Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, Academic Chamber Soloists, Podkrkonošský symphonic orchestra and Turnov chamber orchestra (CZE). Kateřina participated in master classes with Peter Frankl, Markus Schirmer, Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Peter Nagy, Jan Jiraský, Alena Vlasáková and was chosen among active participants to work with the world-renowned pianist Angela Hewitt in Leipzig. She spent one academic year in Dresden in the class of Arkadi Zenzipér (RUS) with Erasmus scholarship and finished her master studies at the Academy of performing arts in Prague in the class of Ivo Kahánek.
Kateřina Ochmanová is a founding member of Quasi Trio (Marie Hasoňová - violin, Judita Škodová - cello).
