The Czech Philharmonic Low Brass Ensemble

Czech Philharmonic

This ensemble was founded by the first-class players of the trombone and tuba section of the Czech Philharmonic in 2004. The suave, silky sound of several trombones and tuba is appreciated not only by audiences, but also by composers who have written a number of original compositions for ensembles of this kind. Supplementing those works are arrangements of well-known compositions from the past, so the repertoire of the Low Brass Ensemble is of considerable breadth. The ensemble has given concerts both at the Rudolfinum and at a number of festivals, and in 2014 it issued a CD titled Jubilee.
