Martha Issová • Who’s Afraid of the Philharmonic?
Programme for upper elementary and secondary school pupils.
Programme
A musical laboratory with Martha Issová as the main researcher. The questions usually studied are: why is classical music called classical? Can you play any old way, over tea or in a lift? What would Smetana’s “Moldau” sound like played backwards? How do we know how quickly to play Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony? And what kind of gestures does a conductor use to lead an orchestra? You are invited to Alice Nellis’s entertaining and instructional programme.
