Luboš Dudek

His first violin teacher was Miloslav Esterle. He took private lessons with Jan Talich while studying with Radka Beranová at the Plzeň Conservatory. After winning a scholarship at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad (Switzerland), he studied there with Alberto Lysy and Liviu Prunaru and attended guest courses led by Yehudi Menuhin, Igor Oistrach, Zackar Bron and Walter Levine among others. He also played in the Camerata Lysy Gstaad chamber orchestra, regularly performing in Switzerland and touring other countries including South Africa and Vatican, where they played for Pope John Paul II.

In 1999, he graduated as a soloist and with a degree in chamber music. In 2005, he completed master’s programme at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in Professor Jiří Tomášek’s class. He has attended masterclass courses with Professor Yfrah Neaman in Mainz (Germany, 1995) and Erich Gruenberg in Semmering (Austria, 2003 and 2004). Besides competition prizes and solo concerts with a number of Czech orchestras, he has also recorded music for the Czech Radio. Besides playing in the first violins of the Czech Philharmonic, he is the first violin player of Divertimento Quartet and Cinque Archi and collaborates with pianist Václav Mácha.
