For the occasion of celebrating the 120th anniversary of the founding of the Czech Philharmonic, Czech Post is issuing a sheet of eight postage stamps. The author is the graphic designer and painterJiří Voves. “The ‘score’ is the basic theme for all of the stamps. The idea is to bring to mind the time when the Czech Philharmonic was established and the giants of Czech music who were behind its founding. At the same time, the idea is to express the continuity of development of the Czech Philharmonic and of music in general up to the present and into the future,” says the author concerning his stamp designs.
1,900 sheets were printed, each with eight self-adhesive stamps. These are Class A stamps, which are sold for the price of mailing a domestic letter weighing up too 50 grams, i.e. CZK 13.
You can purchase the stamps at the Czech Philharmonic ticket office in the Rudolfinum.
