Conductors

Over 120 seasons, the Czech Philharmonic has been led by many great conductors who have left an indelible mark on the golden treasury of Czech music. At present, there are four different conductors who regularly work and perform with the orchestra.

Starting the 2018/19 season, the acclaimed artist Semyon Bychkov has been named Chief Conductor and Music Directorof the Czech Philharmonic

Jakub Hrůša
Jakub Hrůša – Principal Guest Conductor Designate

The talented Czech maestro Jakub Hrůša has been appointed the Principal Guest Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic starting the 2018/2019 season. He leads the orchestra frequently at the subscription as well as special concerts.

Tomáš Netopil
Tomáš Netopil – Principal Guest Conductor Designate

Next to Jakub Hrůša, Tomáš Netopil has been appointed the Principal Guest Conductor of the orchestra from the beginning of the 2018/19 season. Apart form concerts in Prague, he is also joining the Czech Philharmonic on several tours.

Jiří Bělohlávek
Jiří Bělohlávek – former Music Director and Chief Conductor

Jiří Bělohlávek held the position of the Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic from 2012 to 2017, although his long-term and succesfull collaboration with the orchestra started more than thirty years ago.
